Lakeyah & Gucci Mane Bring Three 6 Mafia's 'Chickenhead' Sample To Life In 'Poppin' Video
Quality Control starlet Lakeyah continues the rollout of her In Due Time album with the parking-lot-pimping video for “Poppin” featuring Gucci Mane.
Complete with vintage droptop whips donning racing stripes and boss babes rocking stiletto heels, Lakeyah’s “Poppin” visual is an ode to strip club anthems and raunchy bangers like Project Pat’s 2001 Three 6 Mafia-featuring track “Chickenhead” — which the record samples.
In an Instagram post on Monday (April 12), Lakeyah plugged the visual while flexing Gucci’s co-sign and putting fans on notice for her impending summer takeover.

Go Run them numbers up now!,” she wrote in the post caption.

Gucci Mane’s guest verse on “Poppin” follows a laundry list of Lakeyah’s superstar collaborations, such as her 42 Dugg-assisted “Big Flexher” single and her collab with the City Girls on “Female GOAT” last year.
After capturing the attention of QC with her viral remix to the City Girls’ “First Day Out” in 2019 and inking a deal with the label, Lakeyah went on to release two projects in 2020 including Times Up.
On Friday (April 9), the “Windows” rapper shared her 12-track In Due Time effort, which includes an additional feature from HipHopDX’s 2021 Rising Star Yung Bleu.
