Method Man has already proven his acting chops — from his role in 2001’s pop culture phenomenon How High with Redman to 2018’s Peppermint starring actress Jennifer Garner, the Wu-Tang Clan legend clearly has range.
His most recent stint, playing Davis McLean on Power Book II: Ghost, has elicited some hate online. On Saturday night (October 3), apparently Meth took note of his Twitter timeline, which he says had erupted with negative comments about his character like “Davis McLean really gotta go.”
The celebrated MC took a moment to clear some things up, tweeting, “Wtf, my timeline is lit up! what’s with all the hate hahaha!… Let me just say this for the record Davis McLean is not Method Man… Method Man is not Davis McLean..#acting #PowerTV power got the best fans.hands down! But don’t get your ass whooped tho.”

Power Book II: Ghost is touted as a spin-off of Power, the 50 Cent-executive produced Starz series. The latest incarnation of the show stars Method Man, Mary J. Blige, Michael Rainey Jr. and Naturi Naughton, among others.
The show’s premiere smashed numerous records for the network and has already been picked up for a second season. The first episode, titled “The Stranger,” collected almost 7.5 million multi-platform views in its debut week, making it “the most-watched new series in the network’s history.”
It also smashed records on the Starz app in the week following the premiere, driving subscriber acquisition up 42 percent. Internationally, it became the top-performing series across the Starzplay International streaming platform in several markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and Brazil.
