Tekashi 6ix9ine Accuses Lil Durk Of Exploiting King Von's Death For Album Sales: 'REST IN PISS'

It’s been just over seven weeks since King Von was fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah bar and many are still in mourning, including Lil Durk.

The Chicago-bred rapper signed Von to his Only The Family imprint label shortly before Von released the single “Crazy Story” in 2018. Needless to say, Durk has been taking his death hard and frequently pays tribute to his fallen friend with his music. But the way Tekashi 6ix9ine sees it, Durk is just exploiting Von’s murder for his own personal gain.

On Sunday (December 27), 6ix9ine emerged from whatever rock he’s been hiding under to comment on one of Akademiks’ Instagram posts regarding Durk’s recent mixtape The Voice. According to Akademiks’ post, the project is on pace to sell roughly 55,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.

Not wasting the opportunity to throw a jab, the controversial rapper made a distasteful comment about Von that enflamed Von’s fans.

“Used Von name for sales,” he wrote. “Is NOT blackballed has all industry support. 55k and his man was caught in 4K #KingVon REST IN PISS.”

6ix9ine previously trolled Durk for low album sales, kicking off a contentious social media exchange that went on for weeks. In September, 6ix9ine insinuated Drake was the only reason he’s ever seen any success after Durk’s solo single “The Voice” made its modest debut at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Everybody in the industry posted this,” 6ix9ine wrote on Instagram. “This what happen when u don’t got Drake.”

Once 6ix9ine’s sophomore album TattleTales failed to land at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 as he’d predicted (reeling in just over 53,000 total album-equivalent units in its inaugural week), the 24-year-old has been nearly silent on social media. But Durk’s sales projections were apparently enough to pull him out of troll retirement.

The Voice arrived on December 24 and featured Von, 6LACK, Young Thug, YNW Melly and Booka600.
