Beyoncé Celebrates Juneteenth with New Song ‘Black Parade’

Beyoncé caps off Juneteenth with a big surprise.

On Friday night, the singer returned with her new song “Black Parade.” The triumphant anthem is a declaration of Black excellence and was released in honor of the historic holiday commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.

Over the hard-hitting bass line, Queen Bey honors her ancestors while celebrating her people’s resilience.

“Trust me they gone need an army / Rubber bullets bouncing off me,” she sings.

“Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I hope we continue to share joy and celebrate each other, even in the midst of struggle. Please continue to remember our beauty, strength and power,” she wrote on Instagram. “‘BLACK PARADE’ celebrates you, your voice and your joy and will benefit Black-owned small businesses.”

Proceeds from the song will benefit BeyGOOD’s Black Business Impact Fund, administered by the National Urban League, which supports Black-owned small businesses. Beyoncé also shared a directory of Black-owned businesses across categories including beauty, fashion, arts, restaurants, and more.
