Tyler, the Creator Reveals His Favorite Albums, Dream Collaborators, & Last Meal

Tyler vs. Tyler.

As part of a video for Adobe MAX, Tyler, the Creator interviewed himself about his ideas for the future of art, fashion, and music. Taking on the persona of a stereotypical New York rapper, Tyler asked Tyler to name his favorite movies (Napoleon Dynamite, Scary Movie 2, 20th Century Women, and The Cat in the Hat) and albums including N.E.R.D’s In Search Of…, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, Pharrell’s In My Mind, and Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun.

He also shared what advice he would give his 18-year-old self. “Everything you put on the internet since you were 15, people will try to bring up no matter what,” said Tyler. “So if you said, ‘Hey I hate the color orange,’ and you wear the color orange 11 years later, people will say, ‘You’re a hypocrite.’”

At one point, the Grammy-winning rapper was asked what he thought should be taught in school. “How to do your taxes, more music classes, more cooking classes. Teach people how to wash they ass.”

Plus, he revealed his dream car (Kelly green LaFerrari), perfect last meal (salmon nigiri, no wasabi with eel sauce), and dream collaborators–Amy Winehouse, “Off the Wall Michael Jackson,” and Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay.
