Gunna Addresses Chloe Bailey Dating Rumors & Rihanna's Halloween Costume

Los Angeles, CA – Gunna was among the array of stars at the 2021 American Music Awards on Sunday night (November 21). While making his way down the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the Atlanta rapper had a brief chat with Billboard and addressed two hot topics that have landed him in the headlines lately.

First off, Gunna spoke about Rihanna dressing up as him for Halloween. The Bajan beauty had the internet in hysterics last month when she stepped out in a black, leather-clad ensemble almost identical to Gunna’s viral New York Fashion Week outfit from earlier this year.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my god! The GOAT just went in my closet and got dressed,’” he said while remembering his initial reaction. “I couldn’t believe it, but I was very, very flattered and honored. I ain’t know where it came from. Nobody ever dressed like me.”

Gunna revealed he was surprised as everyone else as he received no heads up from RiRi or her team that she’d be channeling him for Halloween. “I don’t even know the inspiration or what, but it was definitely fire,” he said. “I appreciate it.”

The conversation then shifted to another R&B songstress as Gunna was asked about his relationship with Chloe Bailey, with whom he attended an Atlanta Hawks game last month.

The sighting sparked dating rumors between the Atlanta natives, especially after Gunna had publicly thirsted over the “Do It” star just a few weeks prior. But according to Gunna, he and Chloe are just friends.

“We’re not dating,” he clarified. “That was just, like, a date where we just go to the game and catch a vibe. But she’s my friend. We went to the studio after and locked in. She’s very creative, very talented and you will be seeing us more, for sure.

“We did two songs, but I think she might want to use it for her album … We definitely got new music coming, though, for sure.”

Gunna wasn’t at the 2021 American Music Awards for just red carpet gossip, though. He was nominated for one award — Favorite Hip Hop Song — thanks to his appearance on Internet Money’s “Lemonade” alongside Don Toliver and NAV, but ended up losing out to Cardi B’s “Up.”

The 28-year-old rapper will be hoping for more luck at awards shows with his upcoming album, Drip Season 4, which could arrive before the end of the year. Gunna gave fans their first taste of the project in August with the Taurus-assisted “9 Times Outta 10.”
