Chance The Rapper Extends Ghana Invite To Chief Keef & Gets Response

While Kendrick Lamar rolled out his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, it was revealed the Pulitzer prize-winning rapper was doing so while on his first-ever trip to Ghana, and now it seems he’s inspiring other rappers to also make the trek to the African country.

Chance The Rapper took to Twitter on Friday (June 17) to express interest in returning to Ghana, and this time he said he wants Chief Keef to come along for the ride.

“Ay @ChiefKeff let’s go to Ghana next month some time,” Chance wrote. Sosa ended up offering a reply, merely telling Chance to, “call my phone.”

Since Kung Fu Kenny took to Ghana right before the release of his new album, could Chance potentially be doing the same thing? The Acid Rap lyricist has been loosely teasing something for weeks, dropping off new tracks he’s dubbed “writing exercises” that have convinced his fans a new album is incoming. He most recently dropped off his new single “Highs and Lows” with Joey Bada$$ on Friday (June 17), which he attached alongside a message for his day ones.

“Thank you to all my fans and supporters that have been there since day one,” Chance said in the intro to the track. “I wanted to give you guys the opportunity — to all my real fans — to be the first to hear my newest piece, ‘The Highs & The Lows’ featuring Joey Bada$$.”

He continued, “Because it’s so hard sometimes to connect with all of you, I need a favor. After you hear this song, I want you to send this to five people that maybe didn’t get a chance to hear it. Throw it in your group chat, send it to your best friend, or just play it out loud because the people gotta know The Return is now!”

It remains unclear if “The Return” is the title of his forthcoming sophomore effort, but “Highs and Lows” comes after chance previously dropped off “Bar for Bar,” followed by the singles “Child of God” and “Wraith” with longtime friend Vic Mensa.
