Chicago Armed Robber Stayed At Crime Scene To Eat Victim’s Fried Chicken

A Chicago man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint and then staying at the crime scene to eat the victim’s takeout fried chicken.
According to CWBChicago, prosecutor Kenneth Flesch said around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, the man, identified as 20-year-old James Taylor, stopped a 35-year-old man and asked for a lighter but the victim said he didn’t have one and kept walking towards his house.
Taylor then tapped the man on the shoulder and when the victim turned around there was a gun pointed at his face. The victim handed over his keys, $2 in cash, a debit card, and the fried chicken.
James then climbed into the victim’s car and went to enjoy the chicken while the victim Dailed 911. When police got to the scene within minutes, they found Taylor still enjoying the victim’s food.
Taylor is being charged with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a debit card. Judge Ankur Srivastava allowed Taylor to go home with an electronic monitoring tag after paying $15,000 in bail. If convicted of the crimes, Taylor faces 21 years in prison, but could face a far lighter sentence by taking a plea deal.
