Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y Release New Album ‘Roofless Records for Drop Tops: Disc 1’: Listen
Wiz Khalifa is on athlete mode this year as far as releases go, and has dropped his latest album project with Curren$y. Previously, the two have worked on projects like the timeless 2009 album. The latest one is titled Roofless Records for Drop Tops: Disc 1, the project is a smooth journey traversed over 10 tracks with production seems posh and laid back to compliment Wiz’s stoner aesthetic.
The album cover also represents this juxtaposition of luxury and cannabis, which is portrayed by the usage of a marijuana leaf through which you can see a US dollar bill. This against a plain black canvas and an explicit content sticker makes for a solid old-school hip hop aesthetic that has a touch of modernity.
With Wiz’s mixed martial arts practice and regular live streams, combined with the tenacity to drop music frequently across the year truly seems like a step away from the lazy stoner stereotype. You can even feel some of the more ‘locked-in’ energy on some of these tracks. Check it out for yourself!
