Dr. Dre’s Wife Denied Restraining Order Over Song Lyric
Dr. Dre’s estranged wife has been shut down again in court.
Nicole Young claimed that she feared for her safety after Dre called her a “greedy bitch” on a recently-recorded track. According to TMZ, she asked for an emergency domestic violence restraining order, but a judge denied the request.
Last month, Aftermath producer DJ Silk previewed a new Dre song with KXNG Crooked, which finds him rapping about his highly-publicized divorce from Nicole and hospitalization for a brain aneurysm.
“Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury,” raps Dre. “I see you tryna f**k me while I’m in surgery / And ICU, deathbed on some money shit / Greedy bitch, take a pic / Girl, you know how money get.”

Nicole told the judge that with the new track, Dre “has upped the ante and is now outright threatening me to keep my mouth shut or else.” Her attorney feels this latest alleged threat, along with past allegations of spousal abuse, warranted an emergency restraining order, but the judge ended up denying it because of “insufficient evidence.”
Dre claims he’s only seen or spoken to Nicole once since she filed for divorce in June 2020 when she visited him at the hospital after his brain aneurysm. He says he’s had no contact with her otherwise and denies the abuse claims.
Since she made the allegations in August, he “realized he had no idea who the woman he was married to was and he wanted nothing to do with her.”
A judge previously rejected Nicole’s emergency requests to advance her hearing on spousal support, consolidate her civil case with her divorce, seal portions of the divorce file, and obtain an advance for her attorney’s fees.
While he was in the ICU in January, Dre’s lawyers struck a deal with Nicole and agreed to pay her $2 million in temporary spousal support.
