50 Cent & STARZ Deliver 1st Glimpse Of 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan'
50 Cent and STARZ are ready to continue the expansion of the Power universe.
With the success of Power Book II: Ghost on Sunday nights, 50 and company revealed the teaser trailer to Power Book III: Raising Kanan on Saturday (December 26). The teaser reveals a Summer 2021 premiere date for the show and focuses on the origin story of 50’s original character from Power, Kanan Stark, set in ’90s Southside Jamacia Queens, New York.
The teaser, which is soundtracked to A Tribe Called Quest’s 1991 Low End Theory song “Excursions”, features glimpses of young Kanan (Mekai Curtis) as well as new characters such as Omar Epps as Detective Malcolm Howard, Joey Bada$$ as Unique, Hailey Kilgore as Kanan’s cousin Jukebox, Lovie Simone as Davina Harrison, London Brown as Marvin Thomas and more.
Kanan’s fate in the original Power was sealed but in 50’s eyes, it was only the beginning. Power Book II: Ghost opened to record viewership for STARZ, prompting the network to order a renewal for season two in September.
