A$AP Rocky Teams Up With Sidetalknyc To Announce Virtual Yams Day 2021
It seemed like the annual Yams Day, which celebrates the life of the late A$AP Yams, was not going to happen this year as the crew remained quiet on any plans for it. Fans can now get excited, though, as A$AP Rocky announced the festival will still be happening, but this time virtually.
On Tuesday (January 12), A$AP Rocky teamed up with New York City’s buzzing new street show sidetalknyc to declare Yams Day 2021 will be held virtually this year. In the video posted on Instagram, several viral social media stars from the city assisted Rocky in unleashing the news, including Blakk Stakkz and SpiderCuz.

The video then cuts to the infamous “Fuck Isis” nurse who went viral in 2015 for dissing and blaming the terrorist group for killing Biggie Smalls. Flacko joins her in the middle of Union Square before we see several shots of him hilariously asking random people if they’re tuning into the festivities this year.
In the end, Ferg joins Rocky and sidetalknyc co-creator Trent Simonian to announce the celebration will be on January 18 and threatened to kick some ass if people don’t tune in.
On top of putting together the first-ever virtual Yams Day, the A$AP Mob has been making quite the comeback lately, especially after A$AP Illz allegedly kicked out Ferg in September. Rocky started the Mob’s hype train when he was spotted hanging out with Rihanna in the Big Apple, fueling new relationship rumors. He then had fans in a frenzy when they heard snippets of a few new songs from him last month.
Things started to really point in the direction of a music comeback when clips of Rocky, Ferg and Nast freestyling made their rounds. It was the first time the Mob was seen together in months and delighted fans who were worried there was friction within the group. Another clip arrived shortly after that of Rocky filming a music video atop a bodega in the city.
