Bobby Shmurda Details 'Mixed Emotions’ Regarding His Freedom

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Bobby Shmurda made his return to the festival stage with an electric performance at Rolling Loud Miami over the weekend. He followed that up on Sunday (July 25) by serving as the special guest on Showtime’s Desus & Mero.

The “Hot N-gga” rapper gave an interesting response to having regained his freedom after getting locked up for over six years behind bars on conspiracy charges when his rap career was just taking off in 2014.

“Honestly, it’s mixed emotions,” he said. “Some days is work, and some days it’s like, ‘Yo, I’m home.’ You know when you can’t believe you’re home? I done came home before but this time it was like, I’m home. You know. what I’m saying? I’m home.

“When you come home, you gotta see everything and what’s what. What’s this? What’s that? That’s what’s really been going on. I’m trying to see what’s this and what’s that before you move cause being in jail just made me smarter. I used to move off a lot of impulse.”

Shmurda is gearing up to make his post-prison comeback on the Hip Hop side. He teased new music on the way from himself and the Migos.

“We got all types of different music coming out,” he continued. “We got the Shmurda shit coming out. We got the Shmigos shit coming out. It’s going to be a lit summer.”

Bobby Shmurda debuted a pair of new tracks during his five-song Rolling Loud set on Friday night (July 23).
