Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Ready To Collab Again After 6x-Platinum 'WAP'

Saturday (August 7) marked one year since Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion dropped their chart-topping “WAP” collaboration, but it could be just the start of more music to come. To celebrate the anniversary, Cardi B took to Twitter to share a scene from the music video while teasing fans with another potential link-up between them.

“Wow I can’t believe wappity WAP turned one today,” she wrote. “It don’t even feel like it. What a record! @theestallion we should do it again sometime.”

Megan Thee Stallion then replied, “Happy WAPIVERSARY. Thank you for having me , I think the people deserve another collab.”

“WAP” has over 869 million Spotify streams and 411 million YouTube views, with the single certified 6x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in July. In August 2020, Cardi B hit back at those offended by the song’s explicit lyrics.

“The people that the song bothers are usually conservatives or really religious people,” she told KIIS 1065 at the time. “But my thing is, I grew up listening to this type of music. Other people might think it’s strange and vulgar, but to me, it’s almost like really normal, you know what I’m saying?”

She added, “No, of course I don’t want my child to listen to this song and everything. It’s for adults. You wanna know something? It’s what people wanna hear. If people didn’t wanna hear it, if they were so afraid to hear it, it wouldn’t be doing as good.”
