CJ Drops ‘Loyalty Over Royalty’ Deluxe With Spicy ‘Lil Freak’ Visual Featuring DreamDoll

Staten IsIand rapper CJ continues to make strides in his bright young career. On Friday (April 9), CJ dropped the star-studded deluxe edition of his debut EP Loyalty Over Royalty along with an accompanying video for one of the songs.

The deluxe edition is led by the high-profile remixes to his 2020 breakout hit single “Whoopty.” French Montana and Rowdy Rebel join CJ on the NYC version while Puerto Rican rap stars Ozuna and Anuel AA hopped on the Latin remix. The two other songs find CJ rapping over another New York drill beat for “Hit UP” and a raunchy tag-team with DreamDoll on “Lil Freak.”

CJ and DreamDoll took a flight to the Dominican Republic in the steamy Edgar Esteves-directed music video for “Lil Freak.” The 24-year-old star finds himself in the middle of beautiful, bikini-clad women in several scenes while rapping in his punchy, drill-tinged flow about needing a “lil freak.” DreamDoll joins CJ in a selection of eye-catching outfits and professing her desires for a man who’ll take her down.

“Whoopty” was inescapable in 2020, accumulating hundreds of millions of streams and landing placements on various playlists such as Spotify’s coveted RapCaviar. The song also hit No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. CJ got massive support on the song from his peers such as Cardi B and Wiz Khalifa who co-signed him.

During his interview with HipHopDX in January, CJ revealed his initial plans behind the official “Whoopty” remix. When asked who he had in mind, CJ wanted Cardi B on the official remix, but that didn’t happen. Instead, CJ linked up with his NYC brethren Rowdy Rebel and French Montana.
