DDG Promises To Keep Pushing ‘Die 4 Respect’ After Akademiks Posts Projection Numbers
DDG isn’t letting first-week projections stop his grind.
After Akademiks posted on Instagram Friday (March 26) the early returns for DDG and OG Parker’s Die 4 Respect were around 9,000 album equivalent units earned, the Pontiac rapper urged patience.
“Y’all checked out #ddg x #ogparker new project???” Ak asked. “Die 4 Respect?? Given where he’s come from , Big W or Big L?”
DDG responded in the comments, “I’m underrated at the moment. Let me warm up laugh now, smd later. D4R gon be charting in its 5-6th week. Give it a listen before you judge.”

The 11-track effort from DDG and Parker is buoyed by guest appearances from YoungBoy Never Broke Again on the lead single “Hood Melody”, Lil Yachty, Coi Leray, fellow 2021 HipHopDX Rising Star 42 Dugg and more.
The push for D4R has been on full-tilt since even before its release. On Wednesday, the Epic Records signed shared the visual for “I Need Security,” the fourth video overall from the project.
DDG already has a couple of gold plaques to his name with “Moonwalking In Calabasas” featuring Blueface and “Arguments.” Only time will tell if fans latch onto another single from the project and it rockets up the chart.
