Drake Ramps Up Album Promo With 'Certified Lover Boy' Trucks In Toronto

Toronto, Ontario – Drake might be releasing his Certified Lover Boy album soon if his latest promotional move is anything to go by.

Over the weekend, a fan was driving along an Ontario freeway and spotted Drizzy’s album logo printed on the side of a truck. The person who posted the video drove alongside the vehicle to get a better glimpse of the promo, while excitedly saying the album title for the camera.

Funnily enough, the title of Pusha T‘s DAYTONA album is printed on the back of the truck, but it might be a coincidence by simply using Daytona Freight Systems as a transportation company.

The promotion arrives just days after Drake’s in-house producer Noah ’40’ Shebib discussed the album during an appearance on Kevin Durant’s ETCs podcast on Thursday (October 15).

“He’s always got it,” 40 said. “He had it eight months ago. He had it six months ago, three months ago, ten months ago! He’s always got it. Now does that mean he’s done? I don’t know, shit. He might make 10 songs next week. I don’t know, right? But he’s got it. But when you going to pull the trigger? I don’t know when you’re going to pull the trigger. He’s going to pull the trigger when he wants to pull it, but he’s got it.

He added, “And whether or not he thinks he’s ready or not, he’s always ready. If he has to drop the album tomorrow, he drops it tomorrow. And you have to understand the other thing about Drake is that Drake can make the industry move. If Drake says, ‘Yo I wanna drop my album on Friday,’ the industry’s gonna jump and it’s coming out on Friday.”

Drake initially announced the album would be dropping during the summer, following the release of his Dark Lane Demo Tapes compilation in May.

“My 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!!” he said in an Instagram post. “Lucky number 6 ? soon fwd.”

In July, Drizzy’s engineer Noel Cadastre confirmed the album was almost finished and they were putting the final touches on it, saying, “Studio for my bday…we 90% but y’all gonna have to wait on that last 10%.”

The project was previously promoted on Toronto’s CN Tower, with red hearts flashing as part of the landmark’s night lighting.

With Drake celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday (October 24), it’s possible he could release something to coincide with the occasion. Certified Lover Boy is set to include his Lil Durk collaboration “Laugh Now Cry Later,” which dropped on August 14.
