Freddie Gibbs Reacts To Uncle Murda's Slanderous 'Rap Up' Bars As Akademiks Fans The Flames
Uncle Murda unleashed his annual “Rap Up” single on New Year’s Eve (December 31) and, as expected, it came with 14-minutes of disrespectful bars. Lil Nas X, Tyler, The Creator, Freddie Gibbs and Will Smith were just a sliver of people who were targeted in the 2021 edition. But so far, Gangsta Gibbs is one of the only rappers to respond to the slanderous song.
On Saturday (January 1), Gibbs took to his Instagram Stories and basically call out all New York rappers: “So many NY rappers on my dick right now. I can’t wait to go to y’all city and show u how to sell it out. byke byke.” He added, “NYC should be ashamed of y’all non rapping ass n-ggaz. This my shit now.”
Gibbs’ online rival Akademiks happily re-tweeted the Alfredo rapper’s sentiments and wrote, “FEDRICK Gibbs gets beat up by one New York rapper and dissed by another now he calling out the whole New York. @FreddieGibbs where the same trolling energy for Jim Jones n Uncle Murda N-gga.” Always ready with a rebuttal, Gibbs simply thanked him for the free promo and pointed out his New York show was sold out.

Uncle Murda dedicated several lines to Freddie Gibbs on “Rap Up,” with references to his alleged fight with Jim Jones at Prime 112 in Miami, Grammy Award nomination and law enforcement relatives.
“Let me smoke a blunt right now and get in my zone,” he spit. “Akademiks said Freddie Gibbs got beat up by Jim Jones/Not a big fan of his the streets don’t rock with him/That be Elliott ad B. Dot giving all those props to him/So when he talk tough we don’t believe what he saying/His father a cop and his brother down with the DEA.
“Yeah, I ain’t like his reaction when Nas won the Grammy/He never lost in court ’cause law enforcement is his family/I know I ain’t the only one who feel like he hated/Freddie album ain’t deserve to be Grammy nominated.”
Gibbs initially replied with a tweet that read, “N-ggaz talkin shit happy new year go pay your rent bitch” and later added, “NY about to be a breeze.”

Akademiks jumped in with, “Prime 112 was a breeze too huh?” and added several laughing emojis. Gibbs replied with a MeMoji shrugging its shoulders and the caption, “Ain’t nobody do shit to me.”
Neither Jim Jones or Gibbs has publicly spoken on what did or didn’t go down that night. Gibbs did shared a video of himself smiling and seemingly scratch-free following the alleged incident.
