Lil Durk Validates His Album Sales After 6ix9ine's King Von Diss

Tekashi 6ix9ine crawled out of social media retirement to troll Lil Durk over the weekend. While taking a jab at The Voice projected album sales, he also managed to disrespect Durk’s friend and labelmate King Von who was killed in Atlanta last month. Not only did he accuse Durk of exploiting Von’s death for his own personal gain, but he also threw dirt on Von’s name.

“Used Von name for sales,” he wrote on one of Akademiks’ Instagram posts. “Is NOT blackballed has all industry support. 55k and his man was caught in 4K #KingVon REST IN PISS.”

Now, Durk has responded to 6ix9ine’s comments, insisting he sold way more than the 55,000 total album-equivalent units originally reported. On Sunday (December 27), the Only The Family label founder wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story, “80k first week with 5hrs promo. Stop playing with the voice #DOIT4VON.”

[Editor’s Note: The Voice was released on a Thursday, so the 25,000 units Durk sold on the album’s first day aren’t being considered.]

Durk and 6ix9ine have had a social media war of words going on for months. In September, 6ix9ine insinuated Drake is the only reason Durk has ever attained any success after his solo single and title track of his latest mixtape  “The Voice” debuted at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.

6ix9ine also trolled his detractors with a trip to their hometown of Chicago where he took a stroll through O Block, Von’s neighborhood. Famous Dex took issue with the move and labeled Von a “bitch” for allowing 6ix9ine to leave unscathed.

“King Von you a bitch,” he said at the time. “Suck my dick. You got 6ix9ine coming to O Block. Yo bitch ass is on something. Hoe-ass n-gga. Go get on 6ix9ine ass before you say anything about me. Cause he all on y’all block. Disrespecting y’all dead n-ggas.”

Von was fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah bar on November 6 after an encounter with Quando Rondo’s entourage. Four other people were injured in the shooting, including 22-year-old Timothy Leeks who was ultimately arrested for Von’s murder.
