Lil Nas X Expertly Handles Conservative Troll Who Calls Him 'A Little Fool With No Talent'

Lil Nas X is accustom to criticism — in fact, his 2022 Grammys performance on Sunday (April 3) included several tweets and YouTube clips of people condemning the “MONTERO” rapper for his sexuality and artistic expression. One particular Twitter user, a conservative pundit named Greg Kelly, proved Lil Nas X’s point and slammed the 22-year-old for his performance.

“Lil Nas has a BIG PROBLEM (And so does America),” he wrote alongside a photo of Lil Nas X performing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “You’re a little FOOL with zero talent!!!”

Not missing a beat and putting his social media savvy to work, Lil Nas X replied, “Damn greg all I did was wear a crop top this time.”

Greg Kelly returned with a rebuttal and explained he took issue with the artist’s sexually suggestive performance —despite being dragged from here to Montero by dedicated Lil Nas X fans. He also suggested had Lil Nas X not been in Sin City, he could’ve been arrested for his behavior.

“It’s not the shirt NAS,” he wrote. “it was the PUBLIC LEWDNESS. You know there are LAWS about that in certain ‘jurisdictions’ but then again you were in VEGAS so who the hell knows. Bottom line: SING AND DANCE but no public self GROPING. DECENCY!”

Jack Harlow, who performed “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X during the ceremony” was defended his collaborator’s homosexuality while walking the Grammys red carpet. When asked by trans actress Laverne Cox what he thought of all the criticism he’s received for being open about his sexuality, Harlow blamed ignorance.

“Wake the fuck up,” he said. “Fuck’s wrong with you? It’s ridiculous. Yeah, I mean he’s trailblazing a path that you know, it’s sad it has to be trailblazed, but I think it’s amazing. He’s innovating the game and it’s fresh, it’s powerful and it’s necessary you know? So, I love it.”

Lil Nas X was nominated for five Grammy Awards at the 64th annual event but lost in all categories. He joked on Twitter, “I can’t believe I lost all my grammys. I am no longer gay!”
