NBA YoungBoy Takes Advantage Of Football Euphoria With 'Super Bowl' Single
Move over Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and Mary J. Blige — NBA YoungBoy is exuding big Pepsi Halftime show vibes from the confinement of his home on his new single.
On Sunday (February 13), NBA YoungBoy inserted himself into the hectic action of the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams NFL world championships game by dropping the audio for his melodic “Super Bowl” offering. Seemingly transposing the electric energy Rams players such as wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. felt upon winning his first championship into the excitement he feels for locking down his queen, YoungBoy delivers a rockstar trap love song right in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Don’t decide on me, you could count on me, yeah /‘Round I go / Havin’ you make me feel like I won the Super Bowl/‘Cause you super, super, super, super,” he raps on the hook.
It appears NBA YoungBoy is determined to continue releasing new music even amid the ongoing issues he is experiencing with his label Atlantic Records. On February 9, the Colors rapper made his return to Instagram in grand fashion by encouraging his followers, and fellow musicians, to avoid doing business with Atlantic.
“Don’t sign to Atlantic,” he wrote in the caption of a deleted IG post. “Trust me.”
The 22-year-old rapper seems to be compartmentalizing his problems fairly well, though, and has remained focused by dropping a string of new releases such as “Free Meechy” and his “Mr Grim Reaper” visual single.
