Pusha T Confronts Rumors He Has Beef With Eminem

Pusha T is still doing the press rounds in support of his latest album, It’s Almost Dry, which arrived on April 22. During a recent interview with The Morning Hustle, the 44-year-old MC was asked if there was anyone would he could have “killed lyrically” but decided to back off. He refused to drop names but did address an online rumor he had beef with Eminem.

According to King Push, it came down to a miscommunication. As he explained, “I saw just recently on Twitter people saying myself and Eminem. I’m like, bro! It was a misinterpretation of something I don’t even remember. Something I said or whatever. But you know, people decode, and they have their own thing — and I was like, ‘Nah, man!”

Pusha T went on to say how much admiration he has for Slim Shady: “Em is somebody that I respect. He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, after all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem [Eminem appeared on Lyricist Lounge in 1998]. That’s a goal for me, personally.”

It’s Almost Dry marks Pusha T’s fourth studio album and features Kanye West, JAY-Z, Pharrell Williams, Nigo, No Malice, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, Don Toliver and Labrinth. Although production was juggled between Pharrell and Ye, Pusha credited Diddy for his inspiration with an Instagram post.

“Anytime I’ve ever had a lack of inspiration, I searched for you,” he wrote in the caption. “When I throw my voice in the studio, mimicking BIG, and the writers/fans notice…what they don’t know is, it was you in 2015 showing me how to turn the corner in those verses to add magic to the song. You’ve always shared the codes with me. Whether approving my albums on the outdoor home speakers at the LA estate to driving the causeways on golf carts thru Miami Beach just listening to a mogul talk.

“I say all this to let you know, although @pharrell and @kanyewest executive produced #ItsAlmostDry , it is your DNA, your fingerprints, and your spirit all over this muthafucka!! Thank you for everything @diddy.”
