Rick Ross-Biggie Collab Is Not A New Song On ‘Richer Than I’ve Ever Been’

There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding Rick Ross’ upcoming album Richer Than I’ve Ever Been. Ross shared a snippet of a new Isaac Hayes-sampled record back in March and fans want to hear what else The Biggest Boss has in store.

The excitement for Ross’ new album has gotten so high though that people are losing their sense. On Thursday (June 17), Rick Ross shared a clip of himself listening to a song while puffing away on his blunt with a bottle of his brand new Luc Belaire Bleu champagne next to him. Fans hear Biggie Smalls drop off a few lines on the song playing right before Ross takes over with his luxurious flow.

LA Leakers, HotNewHipHop and other outlets shared the video claiming the song was unreleased and will be featured on Ross’ upcoming album. Unfortunately, the track in question is actually a four year old Diddy song titled “Watcha Gon’ Do” featuring Biggie Smalls and Rick Ross.

Diddy dropped the single during his DJ set on a 2017 episode of Drake’s OVO Sound radio on Apple Music. The Biggie verse isn’t a posthumous one either. Biggie’s contribution comes from The Lox’s long lost 1996 single “You’ll See.” Here it is in full.

Now with how fast news travels on the internet, a bunch of Hip Hop fans think the “new” song will be on Ross’ album. There’s also a group telling the uninformed about the origins of the song making their claims in the comment section of LA Leakers Instagram post.

While fans continue to wait for Richer Than I’ve Ever Been, they can get their fix of The Boss during his new Las Vegas multi-year residency at Drai’s Nightclub. KTNV Channel 13 Action News reported Rozay’s new deal as Drai’s first new residency of 2021.

“I’m excited to kick the summer off in a MAJOR WAY 2021’!” Ross wrote on Instagram while saluting his team. “Thank everyone who helped put the pieces together for this masterpiece. [Sia] and [Tawanda Roberts] did it again.”
