Serena Williams Announces She’s Pregnant With Second Child

Serena Williams has another baby on the way. The tennis star made the announcement to her 16.5 million followers on Instagram Monday (May 1) ahead of the 2023 Met Gala.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the [three] of us to the Met Gala,” Williams captioned the post, which showed her and husband Alexis Ohanian posing ahead of the fashion affair. She wore a black Gucci dress with a white tulle on the bottom. To finish the look off, she added a cropped blazer and lots of pearls.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion got married to the Reddit co-founder in 2017. That same year, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
This pregnancy news is expected as the 41-year-old discussed her next chapter in life after tennis with Gayle Williams in an interview with “CBS Mornings.” When asked if she would get back on the court, Williams replied, “For now, no. I’ve literally given my whole life to tennis and it’s time for me to give my life to something else.” She said that her 5-year-old daughter wants a little sister. “Now, she prays for a sibling. I’m working on it,” she added.
