Snoop Dogg Kicks Off Album No. 18 By Cussing Out Grubby Weed Heads

Los Angeles, CA – Not only is Snoop Dogg a member of Hip Hop’s Mt. Westmore but Mt. Kushmore as well.

The rap legend recently announced his 18th studio album, From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites, in an Instagram post earlier this week and alluded to high times being on the horizon.

“NEW SINGLE ALERT OFF NEW ALBUM ‘From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites,’” he wrote while flagging the title “Roaches In My Ashtray” with siren emojis.

On Friday (April 2), Snoop Dogg delivered on the audio promise and dropped a video as an extra puff. The 420-themed record follows the lineage of songs like Luniz’s “I Got 5 On It” where proper marijuana courtesy is expected — and lambasted if not followed.

“Bodyguard hard, could’ve swore I left a blunt in my ashtray/Little homie slid up on me, pulled a fast play, but this the last play/Don’t be fucking with my roaches in my ashtray/Hate to see ya coming, love it when you walk away,” Snoop Dogg growls on the track.

The song’s accompanying video is directed by Guap City Production, features cameos from Wiz Khalifa, Xzibit and producer ProHoeZak (who appears on the song’s hook), countless customized automobiles, and plenty of blunt smoke.

2021 is shaping up to be a big year career-wise for The Doggfather. On April Fool’s Day, the reports were no joke when NBC announced he would be joining the 20th season of The Voice as a “mega-mentor.”

In addition to the upcoming From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites album, he’s also one-fourth of the rap supergroup Mt. Westmore along with Ice Cube, Too $hort, E-40 — and a reunion with Dr. Dre!

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Too $hort and E-40 both revealed The Chronic creator participation and their excitement to have him in the mix.

“Dre is on there, man,” Too $hort said. “He’s on there. Snoop got him on there. Dre is on there. That’s Snoop’s guy. That’s Ice Cube’s guy. They shot a big movie together. He’s on there. Ain’t no doubt about it. You don’t even got to ask him.”

E-40 chimed in with, “Shout out to Dr. Dre,” with $hort confirming the feature is already done: “Yeah. He already did his part. It’s already certified. He’s on the project.”
