SZA Lands 1st Acting Role Following 'I Hate U' Record-Breaking Success
SZA is adding another job description to her decorated resumé. The R&B superstar took to her Instagram Story over the weekend to post a cake she received celebrating the success of her latest single “I Hate U” and the upcoming acting role she notched.
“Can’t believe I got the part I wanted. She’s an actress,” she captioned the post.

SZA hopped into the comments to thank everyone and call out some people who thought she actually ordered the cake for herself.
“Lmao thank y’all,” she said. “And before y’all start somebody BOUGHT me this cake . It’s a sweet gesture n i was being appreciative.”
Although there’s not much info detailing exactly what project SZA is involved with, her photographer/videographer confirmed the news on Sunday (December 19) and posted a couple of possible on-set photos.
“Everything @sza touch turn into gold. My girl is now adding ‘actress’ to her repertoire, congratulations babe,” she wrote.

SZA’s “I Hate U” is also dominating the charts following its debut at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track held Spotify’s No. 1 spot in the United States for five days after its release and is the most-streamed R&B song by a female artist on Apple Music in its first week, according to Billboard.
