T.I. Challenges 50 Cent To Verzuz Battle During Star-Studded 'Black Mafia Family' Premiere
Atlanta, GA – The Black Mafia Family premiere took place in Atlanta on Thursday night (September 23) where the STARZ series’ executive producer 50 Cent was among the many celebrities in attendance.
T.I., Young Thug, Gunna, Southside, Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter, 2 Chainz, Flo Rida, G Herbo and Rev Run’s daughter Angela Simmons were just some of the notable people who dressed to the nines to show support for Fiddy’s latest endeavor.
But as T.I. took the stage to perform a medley of his hits such as “What You Know” and “Whatever You Like,” he apparently had another order of business and opted to challenge 50 Cent to a Verzuz battle.
“Hey 50,” he said. “We got to do this Verzuz, man. Give them what the people want to see, man!”
He later added, “Congratulations to my nephew Lil Meech, congratulations to 50 for putting this shit together.”
But getting 50 Cent to agree to a Verzuz battle is likely a tall order. While speaking to The Knockturnal in July, he was asked if he would be interested in stepping in the arena with another artist of the same calibur.
“A Verzuz battle? Probably not,” he replied. “We back outside. That was something that happened during the pandemic when we was stuck in the house. Now that we back outside, there’s other things to do. We supposed to be creating new history, not being back there.”

50 Cent could’ve popped up during Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz earlier this month, but apparently not even the idea of squashing his longtime adversary was enough to entice him.
Ja Rule presented the idea last December, a matchup that would’ve undoubtedly gone down in the Hip Hop history books. But 50 Cent declined and instead, clowned Ja Rule with a meme.
Shortly before the Fat Joe and Ja Rule Verzuz went down, the Terror Squad captain addressed the rumors 50 Cent was too scared to go up against Rule in one of his infamous Instagram Live videos.
“Why y’all keep asking me about 50 Cent? We gave him the option,” he said on Instagram Live. “He did not want to go against me … He not doing the Verzuz.”
He continued, “You keep askin’ me some shit I can’t help you with. And so, he don’t wanna do it. It’s not cause he scared or he’s not one of the greatest who ever lived, he just ain’t fucking with that. I tell you what — 50 Cent gon’ be a billionaire, a real billionaire. You gotta understand, 50 Cent got a bunch of TV shows. TV. That’s not rap music. That’s a different type of money.”
