T.I. Donates Over A Thousand Turkeys At 16th Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway In Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – T.I. famously crowned himself “King of da South” 18 years ago, and he’s been giving back to his constituents ever since, especially around Thanksgiving.

On Wednesday (November 23), the Hustle Gang honcho hosted the 16th annual turkey giveaway on behalf of his charity organization Harris Community Works. Posted up outside Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, T.I. donated over 1,000 turkeys to help feed underserved families and senior citizens in Atlanta’s Westside in time for the holiday season.

The Paper Trail rapper was assisted in his charitable effort by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Councilwoman Andrea Boone and comedian DC Young Fly, as well as dozens of volunteers, friends, family and local Atlanta representatives.

T.I.’s turkey drive also drew support from national companies such as Papa John’s, Humana and Chick-fil-A, with Papa John’s donating a $10,000 check to help fund Harris Community Work’s local efforts.

Wednesday’s turkey giveaway isn’t the only way T.I. has given back to his fellow ATLiens this year. Earlier this month, the trap rap pioneer announced he’s buying his old Bankhead neighborhood with plans to build a new affordable housing development featuring 143 units, a community garden, community center and greenhouse.

T.I.’s philanthropic efforts — on top of his influential musical output, of course — earned him the Voice of the Culture Award from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) in 2019.
