T.I. Provides Over 1,000 Turkeys In Atlanta For Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway
Atlanta, GA – T.I. has for years given back to communities in his hometown of Atlanta for Thanksgiving. For the 15th annual edition of his Harris Community Works Thanksgiving Giveaway, the COVID-19 pandemic wouldn’t stop him and his foundation from donating over 1,000 turkeys and produce including greens and sweet potatoes to underserved families as well as seniors.
Harris Community Works partnered with the City of Atlanta along with Humana, Kroger, AKOO, Bankhead Seafood and more for the donation on Tuesday (November 24). On hand were Atlanta politicians such as Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Councilmember Andrea Boone and more.
Tip took to Instagram to celebrate as well as share a video of the community giveback.
“15 yrs straight‼️,” Tip wrote on Instagram. “Gotta thank @andreaboonenow @majorgirl @keishabottoms @vimommati @bankheadseafood @akooclothing #HarrisCommunityWorks & everyone else who donated their time, energy,& resources to make this happen. Beginning in 2005, Harris Community Works has spent every November giving back to underserved families. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 event was held outdoors and pre-selected families and seniors in Atlanta’s Westside community could drive up and receive their meals.
The self-proclaimed King of the South has worked consistently with the City of Atlanta throughout 2020. Over the summer, he spoke out next to Killer Mike at a press conference following the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks and partnered with the Run The Jewels rapper to donate meals and personal protective equipment to families in May.
