Tory Lanez Reveals Deeper Meaning Behind Dropping 'DAYSTAR' Album
Tory Lanez’ much-maligned DAYSTAR album has been the talk of Hip Hop since its release on Friday (September 25). Criticized for its overarching theme of discussing his alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, Lanez took to Instagram to reveal an even deeper meaning behind releasing the album.
“9/25 my mothers birthday,” he wrote on IG Sunday (September 27). “the day she passed away , the day the album dropped #daystar.”

Lanez spent the majority of DAYSTAR discussing the July 12 incident where he allegedly shot the Houston rapper, denying he pulled the trigger and alluding to still loving the “Big Ole Freak” artist amongst other items.
Lanez has been vocal about his choice of releasing Daystar. He recently traded barbs with Rick Ross over social media and Ross’ belief Lanez was capitalizing on the pain of Megan Thee Stallion in order to push albums.
As Ross taunted the Toronto artist with a troll in regards to buying a smart car, Lanez blasted him on Twitter.
“I respect u 2 much as a black man to disrespect you in these times,” Lanez wrote. “However I went out and marched 9 DAYS STRAIT for Breonna Taylor ..IN YOUR CITY …I didn’t see the “boss” out there once ?…also stop tagging your endorsements in post about her. It’s a poor decision @RickRoss.”
Ross dismissed Lanez’ once more, saying he should have responded to Megan’s accusations with the same amount of speed he came back at Ross with.
