Los Angeles, CA – The Recording Academy unveiled the 2022 Grammy Award nominations on Tuesday morning (November 23). Par for the course, they included a variety of Hip Hop and R&B acts, including Tyler, The Creator, Drake, Nas, Kanye West and J. Cole who all received nominations in the Best Rap Album category.
Nas took home the gilded trophy in the Best Rap Album category for King’s Disease last year, beating out Jay Electronica, D Smoke, Royce Da 5’9, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist.
Meanwhile, DMX received a posthumous nomination in the Best Rap Song category for “Bath Salts” featuring JAY-Z and Nas from Exodus, which was completed not long after his April death. Saweetie, Baby Keem, Kanye West and J. Cole round out the category.
