50 Cent Clowns Jussie Smollett After Jail Release

Jussie Smollett was released from jail on Wednesday night (March 16) pending his appeal of his conviction for lying to police about a racist and homophobic attack.

The “Empire” star walked out of Cook County Jail in Chicago after serving less than a week of his 150-day conviction. After the appellate court ruling, 50 Cent once again took to Instagram to clown Smollett.

“They let this fool out in less than a week. LOL,” he wrote alongside a Deadline.com headline.

Amid his sentencing last week, 50 mocked Smollett over his courtroom outburst during which he proclaimed his innocence.

“I am not suicidal! I am not suicidal and I’m innocent. I could have said that I was guilty a long time ago,” the actor said while being led out of the courtroom with his fist raised.

50 couldn’t help but weigh in. “If i ever go to court again, i don’t care if it’s for a parking ticket. i’m gonna say this I AM NOT SUICIDAL, I’M INNOCENT,” he commented. “I COULD HAVE SAID I WAS GUILTY A LONG TIME AGO. as i walk out.”

In December, Smollett was found guilty of falsely reporting that he had been the victim of a hate crime in Chicago in January 2019. A Cook County judge sentenced him to immediately begin serving 150 days in jail for his conviction on five felony counts of disorderly conduct.

On Wednesday night, he walked out of jail with supporters at his side. “They released him and that says a lot about what the appellate court thinks of this case,” said his lawyer, Nenye Uche.
