Benny The Butcher Releases ‘Stabbed & Shot 2 (Deluxe)’ feat. 14 New Tracks and Documentary

Rapper Benny the Butcher, who has recently been dissed by Freddie Gibbs, has just dropped the deluxe version of his album, Stabbed & Shot 2. The deluxe version boasts 14 new tracks, which packs the entire project with 30 songs. The album comes with the release of a documentary as well.

In fact, the tracks are simply named “Track” with a number attached. While this initially created mystery for the project, it is now known that a lot of these are actually just documentary snippets — with only two songs carrying the weight of novelty. One of them is, of course, the ‘SS2 Freestyle’ that has Benny with the Sway’s Universe artwork.

Understandably, fans on Reddit seem disappointed — some even comparing Benny’s work to that of WSG, who has consistently shown up with pristine lyricism. This isn’t to underscore Benny the Butcher’s own rapping ability, although the lack of volume on the deluxe in terms of new experiences certainly leaves one wanting more. Perhaps a way to rise to the occasion is to respond to Freddie Gibbs with fervour.

With rap more competitive than it has been for a minute, we could be stepping into a trade of some of the finest verses from Benny the Butcher, JPEGMAFIA, Freddie Gibbs — with J. Cole stepping in to check Freddie. What do you think?
