Charlie Puth Claims Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Is Dropping This Week
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy may be dropping as soon as this week.
While an official announcement has yet to be made, a release date has leaked from an unexpected source—Charlie Puth. The singer-songwriter claims to know when the long-awaited album is dropping. Taking to Twitter on Monday (Jan. 18), Puth announced that CLB would arrive this Thursday, Jan. 21.
“Drakes dropping on the 21st,” he wrote.

The tweet was deleted while some fans questioned how Puth would know such information, speculating that he may have contributed to the project. The two have not previously worked together, but Puth has shared his thoughts on Drake’s music and covered his hit “Hotline Bling” with Kehlani in 2015.
If Drake put out a record that had the same tempo as Vogue by Madonna, and maybe even sounded a little bit like it, it would be the biggest thing ever.

It’s unclear if the Jan. 21 date is accurate, but a release does appear to be approaching. In October, Drake announced that his sixth studio would arrive sometime in January and there are only two Fridays left in the month. On Monday (Jan. 18), Drake posted a photo from the studio on Instagram Stories. Earlier this month, he reportedly shot a video with Meek Mill in the Bahamas.
Meanwhile, the 6 God continues to make history. He became the first and only artist to hit 50 billion combined streams on Spotify.
