Cordae Drops Freestyle Over Kendrick Lamar’s ‘The Heart Part 4’
A week before his album drops, Cordae warms up with an explosive freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 4.”
In the video for “FABEV Freestyle,” the North Carolina MC strolls the streets of Paris and hits the studio with Yasiin Bey while reflecting on the next chapter of his career.
“The last album was about finding your purpose / This one start rewinding my verses / You’ll find a deeper message,” he raps about the follow-up to his 2019 debut The Lost Boy.
He also declares himself the “best rapper under 25.” “I might press the button and end discussion of who’s the best / Under 25 and lay that conversation to rest,” boasts Cordae.
The beat switches up as he proceeds to take shots at the competition. “I could diss the whole rap game and fill it with corpses,” he adds. “My catalog’s flawless / Your last album was garbage.”
He ends his four-minute flow a warning: “This is just the beginning, motherfu**er, I’m coming.”
Cordae’s sophomore album From a Bird’s Eye View drops next Friday featuring the single “Sinister” with Lil Wayne.
