Diddy Returns to the Studio
Diddy is back in the lab.
The Bad Boy mogul appears to be cooking up new music. On Sunday (Jan. 10), Sean “Love” Combs shared footage of himself in a pink-lit studio previewing a new track while seated in front of a computer screen. “Live from LOVE STUDIO,” he captioned his Instagram Story.
In subsequent posts, he teased more song snippets. “In the lab,” he wrote.
He was also joined by super-producer London On Da Track (Ariana Grande, Summer Walker). While it’s unclear what they’re working on, Diddy seems to be inspired once again. “Back where I belong,” said Puff.
In October 2019, Diddy announced that he was taking a break from music. “To be honest, I’ve been in semi-retirement,” he told Rolling Stone. “If you don’t see my name on all the Top 10 records, that means I’m not making music.”
The 51-year-old hasn’t released an official project since his 2015 mixtape MMM (Money Making Mitch), but he has remained involved in music. Last year, he executive produced Burna Boy’s album Twice As Tall and appeared on Big Sean’s album Detroit 2.
While he was in the studio, the Toluca Lake, Calif. home he shared with the late Kim Porter was hit by burglars. According to TMZ, someone pried open a side door and entered the property, triggering the security system. They rummaged through the house, but it’s unclear if anything was stolen. Porter, the mother of Diddy’s three children, was found dead in the home back in November 2018 at the age of 47.
