Drake and Rick Ross Are Reportedly Working on a Joint Album

Drake made his long-awaited return last night with his Scary Hours 2 pack featuring three new tracks including “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” with Rick Ross.

And there may be more collaborations in store from the OVO rapper and MMG boss. According to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, the two still have plans to release a joint album. Spotify’s RapCaviar Twitter account (via HipHop-N-More) asked fans to share their favorite Drake and Ross collaboration and the former NFL star raised eyebrows when he claimed that the duo was working on a joint album.

“The joint album they’re doing together with unseat all projects they’ve done to date,” tweeted Johnson.

While the claim is unconfirmed, this would not be the first time Drake and Ross have sparked rumors of a joint effort. Their YOLO Tape was never released, but Ross didn’t rule out a future project with Drizzy.

“You never know what could happen in the future, but me and Drake, him being in Miami at that time [in 2011-2012], and him coming by the crib every day, we was spending a lot of time together,” he told Complex last year. “And it was a serious possibility. We wasn’t just talking shit. We really was in the studio a lot. It’s just not the same no more. Meaning, the way he travel and the way I move. But is it a possibility? There’s always a possibility for that, because it would be simple for us.”

Their collaborations date back over a decade ago and include songs like “Aston Martin Music,” “I’m on One,” “Gold Roses,” “Money in the Grave,” and “Diced Pineapples.”

“I think whenever we get in the booth, I always play the big brother role. And he always be the young fly brother,” Ross said of his bond with Drake. “From day one, when I met him, he was just one of them ni**as that I really f**k with. He knew I would’ve gotten my shoes muddy for him. We all became family and it just continued to be that way.”

In addition to dropping Scary Hours 2 and the video for “What’s Next,” Drake launched his new 24-hour radio station SOUND 42 on SiriusXM where he revealed that he was still finishing his album Certified Lover Boy.
