Fivio Foreign Arrested for Loaded Gun Following Police Chase
Fivio Foreign has been arrested and charged with weapons possession following a foot chase with police.
The Daily Voice reports the incident took place after Fivio, born Maxie Ryles III, left his Mercedes running in a no-parking zone while he went into Citibank in Fort Lee, New Jersey around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (April 21).
Sgt. Howard Ginsburg approached the vehicle and requested Ryles’ driver’s license. Ryles asked whether he was getting a ticket and disregarded the officer’s request before walking away while the vehicle was still running, according to Capt. Ricky Mirkovic.
A backup officer tracked down Ryles jaywalking a block away and repeatedly asked him to stop so he could speak with him. Ryles “acknowledged but ignored him and continued to walk away” before running. The officer allegedly found him in the parking garage of a nearby apartment building with a loaded .25-caliber handgun with a defaced serial number, which fell from Ryles’ waistband.
Ryles was handcuffed while medics checked for any injuries. The backup officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a minor wound.
Police charged Ryles with weapons possession, having a defaced firearm, and resisting arrest. He was taken to Bergen County Jail in Hackensack and is slated to appear in court on Thursday.
Last October, Ryles was arrested for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend Jasmine Giselle. She later said that she did not press charges and that a “nosy neighbor” called the police.
