Funkmaster Flex Claims JAY-Z Stays Off Social Media Because He’s ‘Sensitive’

Funkmaster Flex is putting JAY-Z on blast.

The Hot 97 DJ made some revelations about the reclusive Roc Nation boss. Speaking with “Million Dollars Worth of Game’s” Gillie Da King and Wallo on Instagram Live, Flex claimed JAY-Z stays off social media because he can’t take the criticism.

“You know he wants me to tell you why he can’t be on social media,” Flex said, according to HotNewHipHop. “‘Cause he’s the most sensitive motherf**ker on the planet and he can’t take n***as in his comments telling him the truth.”

He also claimed that JAY-Z maintains a Finstagram page. “Okay? He can’t take it,” said Flex. “He can’t open up social media. You know what JAY does? He watches social media from a fake page.”

The hosts asked what triggered his comments about JAY-Z and pointed out that Flex may have some unresolved issues with Hov, including not being invited to the Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch.

JAY-Z has maintained a distant relationship with social media. In 2015, Meek Mill revealed what his mentor thinks of it. “JAY-Z once told me this social media world was created for people that wouldn’t even speak if they wasn’t present,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “For people that was scared to approach a male/female and hold a conversation if they wanted to a number or ask to go on a date! He also said you can’t speak truth on here because this is the fake people world and they gone hate you for that …People are in love with this lifestyle more than people!”

JAY-Z doesn’t have an official Instagram account. He joined Instagram in 2015, but deleted the app 14 hours later. He does maintain his @S_C_ Twitter account, but he hasn’t tweeted since November 2018.

Elsewhere in the interview, Flex said he believes Drake is a better rapper than JAY-Z. “He’s too versatile, his melodies, he has the bars, and he had the songs,” Flex said of Drizzy. “If those reference tracks had never happened, Drake would have been my favorite artist of all time.”
