Leon Michael Tyerell Kornegay, better known as HAWAII MK (BROOKLYN BEEF), has carved an indelible path in the entertainment industry. As an American rapper, actor, singer, songwriter, and multifaceted entrepreneur, his journey from humble roots to acclaimed success is inspirational.
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, New York, Hilo Hawaii, specifically Brentwood and Wyandanch, HAWAII MK found solace in music early on. His father, Lilton M. Ayler II, introduced him to the basics of guitar chords, igniting a passion that would shape his future. By age nine, he was already writing songs and later formed his first rap group, showcasing an innate talent that transcended his years. However, life in the tough neighborhoods of Long Island exposed him to challenges. Despite his musical aspirations, the harsh realities led him to engage in activities that weren’t aligned with his dreams. Recognizing that a brighter future existed beyond the streets, he refocused his efforts and pursued higher education in 2003. Nevertheless, a regrettable altercation between a college professor, who was a NYPD officer, resulted in legal consequences. This unfortunate incident led to five years behind bars, marking a significant turning point in his life.
