Lupe Fiasco Releases ‘Samurai DX’, A Follow Up To His Album ‘Samurai’: Listen

Lupe Fiasco, after having released a full concept album titled Samurai not too long ago, is back with a follow up to the critically acclaimed project.

Samurai DX serves as the deluxe extension of the album, and features five tracks; three of these are remixes, while the other two are a cherry on top for the fans. In fact, one of these tracks, ‘SOS,’ is produced by Lupe Fiasco himself.

Lupe works in silence, and lets the music speak for itself. Better yet, Lupe has rappers in a frenzy online, with Mickey Factz having sparked discussions of a Lupe-Kendrick comparison debate. Many in the comments agreed with Mickey, who claimed that Lupe could outrap Kendrick when it comes to the technicalities.

But of course, with the run Kendrick is having right now (one that is commendably well deserved), a section of Kendrick fans are quick to dismiss the discussion.

Regardless of where you may rank Lupe in your books, the new project is certainly a reminder of Lupe’s lyrical prowess as a rapper. To be so silent, and be in the conversation, truly is on brand for hip hop’s very own Samurai. Check out the project below!
