More Details Emerge in Lil Reese Shooting
More details have emerged in the shooting that wounded Lil Reese.
According to a Chicago police spokeswoman (via FOX 32), the incident occurred Saturday morning (May 15) after a father tracked his son’s stolen Dodge Durango to a parking garage near Chicago’s North Side and tried to detain the people inside.
The 55-year-old man confronted the rapper and others inside the car on the third level of the garage before another person appeared and opened fire on the vehicle. The Dodge sped off and crashed, while passengers exchanged gunfire with the other shooter.
The motive of the shooter remains unclear. Officers told witnesses that there were four suspects. Police discovered guns in the stolen car but no one has been taken into custody.
Witnesses described a “weird” series of events in the garage connected to a luxury high-rise condominium. The group said they were approaching their vehicle when they heard what sounded like a car crash and two “pops,” which turned out to be gunshots.
Three men were wounded in the shootout, including Lil Reese, who is reportedly in stable condition after being grazed in the eye with a bullet. A 20-year man suffered a gunshot to the knee. A third man, 27, is said to be in critical condition after sustaining multiple shots.
This is the second time Lil Reese has been shot in 18 months. In November 2019, he was wounded in the neck by a gunman with an AK47 assault rifle.
