NBA YoungBoy Arrested, Taken Into FBI Custody

YoungBoy Never Broke Again is in FBI custody following a pursuit in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was wanted on an outstanding warrant. According to TMZ, police attempted to stop the vehicle he was in while driving through Tarzana, Calif. around 11 a.m. on Monday (March 22).

When the car didn’t pull over, a short pursuit followed before YoungBoy got out of the vehicle and took off on foot. He was arrested and taken into custody around 1 p.m.

A perimeter was set up around the neighborhood, while a helicopter circled overhead. In video footage, police can be heard telling him to put down all weapons and exit the vehicle with his hands up. A K-9 dog was also brought in to help with the pursuit.

Cops reportedly discovered a firearm in the vehicle, but it’s unclear if that belongs to YoungBoy. He is currently in federal custody.

Following YoungBoy’s arrest, the mother of his 2-month-old son, Yaya Mayweather, shared her reaction. “My day has been completely ruined,” she wrote on Instagram, while adding the hashtag #FreeKentrell.

This is the latest run-in for NBA YoungBoy. Back in September, the Baton Rouge rapper was among 16 people arrested on drug and firearm charges in Louisiana. In 2019, he served 90 days in jail following a temporary probation hold in a 2016 nonfatal shooting case.
