SpotemGottem Hospitalized After Drive-By Shooting
SpotemGottem has been hospitalized following a drive-by shooting.
The 19-year-old rapper from Jacksonville, whose real name is Nehemiah Harden, was reportedly leaving the studio on Friday morning (Sept. 17) when he was shot. Details remain scarce, but according to unconfirmed reports he was shot at least five times. His current condition is unknown.
“SpotemGottem was the victim of a drive-by shooting this morning, leaving the studio,” his lawyer said in a statement to Complex.
SpotemGottem is best known for his single “Beat Box,” which went viral and spawned the “Junebug Challenge,” as well as remixes from DaBaby and Mulatto.
He was arrested in July on felony gun charges after police found him inside his hotel room with an AK-47. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and accessory after the fact to a felony.
UPDATE: TMZ reports that SpotemGottem was shot multiple times in a Miami road rage incident that occurred around 3 a.m. Friday. The rapper was riding in the passenger seat when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and shot up the car at least 22 times on the driver’s side. SpotemGottem suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery.
