Tory Lanez Taken Into Custody for Violating Megan Thee Stallion Protective Order

Tory Lanez was in court today to face a judge in his felony assault case involving Megan Thee Stallion.

After hearing nearly an hour of argument about Lanez’s tweets, the judge found him in violation of the discovery protective order and personal contact order. Lanez was handcuffed in the courtroom and taken into custody of the Sheriff’s Department, according to TMZ. He is being held on $350,000 bail.

Prosecutors had requested that Lanez be held without bail or that it be set at $5 million. He is in the process of posting bail.

The judge said Tory’s tweet, where he directly addressed Meg as “U” was a violation of a protective order. He is not supposed to contact or mention her at all. Back in February, Tory tweeted, “Good D*ick had me fucking 2 best friends …. and I got caught … that’s what I apologized 4 . … it’s sick how u Spun it tho …”

During Tuesday’s hearing, the judge agreed that Tory’s tweets “seem to be clear messages” to Megan, who has accused him of firing at her feet following a dispute in the Hollywood Hills in July 2020.

Prosecutors also brought up DJ Akademiks’ tweet from February which incorrectly claimed that Tory’s “DNA was not found on the weapon in the Meg Thee Stallion case.”

The prosecution believes the info was given to Akademiks from Tory’s team, but Tory’s attorney Shawn Holley said that wasn’t possible since Akademiks’ initial tweet was wrong.

As part of a new condition to Lanez’s release, he is “not to mention the complaining witness in this case in any social media.”

Tory has pleaded not guilty to the felony assault charges. A trial date has been set for Sept. 14.
