Trey Songz Drops ‘Back Home’ Duet with Summer Walker
Trigga is home.
While he spends time quarantined with his family, Trey Songz is also giving fans some long-awaited new music. On Thursday, the R&B crooner dropped his new single “Back Home” featuring Summer Walker. Over a sample of Rose Royce’s “I’m Going Down,” which Cam’ron famously sampled on “Oh Boy,” Trey serenades his love.
“If it isn’t love, why I keep comin’ back? / I keep comin’ back, back home,” he sings.
The video features personal footage of Trey at home with his 1-year-old son Noah, while paying tribute to stay-at-home fathers and mothers including his own son’s mother, Caro Colon. There are also cameos from 50 Cent, Teyana Taylor and her husband Iman Shumpert, Megan Thee Stallion, Fat Joe, D-Nice, and Summer, who recently celebrated her 24th birthday at home.
The video ends with a dedication to the everyday heroes on the front lines. “None of these moments would be possible without all of the individuals on the front lines keeping things going for us,” says Trey. “We appreciate and thank God for every single one of you.”
“Back Home” marks Trey’s first new music since “Chi Chi,” his collaboration with Chris Brown from February 2019.
