Wale is putting his career on hold while he focuses on his health.
The D.C. rapper revealed that he has been battling a mysterious illness, which has made him “extremely sick.” Taking to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, he thanked his friends for their concern, but did not provide more details on his condition.
“I am out of commission. I been extremely sick since Saturday I’ve missed many calls and texts,” he wrote. “Thank you to everybody who called wit genuine concern. I ain’t sure how long I’ll be down but this shit ain’t slight.”
While he focuses on his recovery, he has turned his socials over to his management. “Soon as I can come back strong I’ll be back strong. As for now management will run my socials much love see y’all soon,” he added.
Wale recently released his new single, “Angles” featuring Chris Brown. His new album Folarin 2, the sequel to his 2012 mixtape Folarin, is set to arrive this summer.
“I just wanna reiterate that I’m one of the greatest of all time,” he tweeted last month. “Catalog .Consistency. Influence. Longevity . DMV. With that said #Folarin2 this summer.”
