WHO IS CAPCITY? IS HE NEXT UP TO COME OUT OF FAR ROCKAWAY?
Anthony Sanchez, also known as Cap City, was born on April 6th, 1984 at Laguardia Hospital in Flushing, NY. From a young age, Anthony displayed a natural talent for writing and creating music in the Hip Hop genre. With a burning passion to become a rap artist, Anthony left home at the age of 18 and quit his security job to pursue his dreams in the streets of Far Rockaway, Queens.
Teaming up with his family and friends, Anthony established his own record label called Poor Living Rich. Through hard work and determination, Anthony’s rap career began to take shape. He released two well-known mixtapes and collaborated with renowned New York City artists such as Max B, Uncle Murda, Benny the Butcher, Rick Hyde, Jim Jones, and Jadakiss.
Anthony’s dedication to his craft led him to perform at numerous clubs in the Tri-State area, attending showcases for local artists. His first mixtape, “Money Worth,” gained significant recognition, selling over 5,000 copies and being hosted by celebrity DJ Superstar Jay. He followed this success with his second mixtape, “Obstacle Course,” which features the hit single “Obstacle Course” with Max B.
Anthony’s journey took an exciting turn when he had the opportunity to meet Hip Hop superstar 50 Cent at a book signing in Manhattan. Impressed by Anthony’s talent, 50 Cent paid him $1000 to listen to his mixtape. This encounter further fueled Anthony’s determination to succeed.
Currently, Cap City is focused on networking and producing more tracks with mainstream artists, with plans to release his new album, “The Only Cure,” in late 2020. Looking ahead, Anthony is determined to continue grinding and aims to release more music in 2024-25, collaborating with even more established artists in the industry.
