Young Dolph Shot and Killed in Memphis

Young Dolph is dead after a shooting in Memphis.

Law enforcement sources tell FOX13 that the 36-year-old rapper was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at Makeda’s Butter Cookies. Dolph reportedly walked in the store to buy cookies when a vehicle pulled up and opened fire through a front window, striking the rapper.

Video of the crime scene has surfaced on social media. Dolph’s camouflage Lamborghini can be seen in the parking lot of the Memphis strip mall.

Bankroll Freddie appeared to confirm the report. “Mane They Just Killed My Ni**a @youngdolph,” he wrote on IG Stories.

Others including Megan Thee Stallion, Quavo, and Gucci Mane took to social media to mourn the loss.

Just days earlier, Makeda’s Cookies shared a video of Dolph buying chocolate chip cookies at the shop. He had been a loyal patron and stopped by every time he was back home.

Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr., released his debut album King of Memphis in 2016. His most recent project, Dum and Dummer 2, a collaborative project with Key Glock, dropped in March.

He leaves behind a son and a daughter.
