Gucci Mane 1017 Artist Hotboy Wes Arrested By U.S. Marshals In Texas
Waco, TX – Gucci Mane’s 1017 artist Hotboy Wes was reportedly arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Monday (January 31).
According to KWTX, Hotboy Wes — real name Wesley Takquan Lewis — was taken in on a Hewitt Police Department robbery warrant. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and theft of a firearm as listed on the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office website.
Authorities spotted Hotboy Wes in a vehicle stopped at 9th and Colcord in Waco, Texas and promptly took him into custody. Official said a stolen gun was recovered from the vehicle and three other suspected gang members inside the vehicle were also arrested. He’s currently being held with a $30,000 bond.
In February 2020, Wes was accused of running the mother of his children off the road with children in the car. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of endangering a child, after witnesses told police it looked like he was trying to push her vehicle into the cement barrier. When deputies questioned Lewis, he reportedly told them he was simply trying to see his children.
Gucci Mane announced he’d signed Hotboy Wes to 1017 Records last July with a post that read, “Follow my new artist @_hotboywes2 the hardest young n-gga outta Texas 1017 we still spinning money #SoIcyBoyz.” In an Instagram post from January 12, Hotboy Wes said he has new music on the way. Shortly before his arrest, he posted another video to his Instagram account talking about “street shit.” Find it here.
